Adapting to Life on the Road

When you first hit the road with a camper, it’s a whole new experience. Life on the road takes some getting used to, from planning the routes for the day to finding the perfect lodging for the night. Each day brings its own set of challenges and thrills, which can be both exciting and a little overwhelming. As you gear up to settle in after a long travel day, it’s essential to remember that flexibility is key to enjoying this adventurous lifestyle.

Daily Decisions: Planning and Setup

One of the beautiful aspects of road life is how spontaneous it can be. We don’t do too much planning in advance—just about 24 hours ahead. If we land in a spot that catches our eye, we might set up for a few days. It’s all about enjoying the moment and the environment around us. For those overnight stays, we keep it simple: plug in the electric, and sometimes we don’t even disconnect from the truck. This way, we’re ready to bounce to another interesting location without too much fuss.

Entering Canada: A New Adventure Awaits

After several travel days, we are thrilled to announce that we have arrived at the Canada border crossing! Just six miles from our campsite, the excitement is building as we prepare to enter this new country and explore everything it has to offer. The thought of experiencing different cultures, trying new foods, and reveling in breathtaking landscapes adds an extra layer of excitement to our journey.

As we get ready for this next chapter, we remind ourselves to embrace the unpredictability. Whether it’s a scenic route we stumble upon or a charming little diner where we stop for a bite, each moment contributes to the unique tapestry of life on the road. Canada, we’re ready for you!

It is the charge of the North Louisiana Fly Fishers to afford to the general public and our members in particular, a better understanding of Fly Fishing and Fly Tying. We wish to perpetuate the sport as a most pleasurable and exciting fishing method and provide education, instructions and the opportunities for relaxation to the membership.

The North Louisiana Fly Fishers (NLFF) serves the Ark-La-Tex area surrounding Shreveport. As the closest cold water fishery, we consider the Little Missouri (Little Mo') river near Murfreesboro, AR our home waters. We also fish the local rivers and lakes. We even have a growing group of kayak fishermen that, as well as the local rivers and lakes, will fish the gulf coast marshes for some saltwater action!
